Do French Candians feel a strong connection to France?

I am just asking out of curiousity. I am of British/Irish descent, Anglophone, and feel a connection, mainly in that I enjoy British television and music but also through our political institutions. So I was just curious whether French Canadians felt similar about France and in what ways? Does it vary with the age of the person? Thanks for your help!
