If christians in politics used eastern religions instead of abrahamic would they still be hateful bigots?

anti animal rights, anti gay, anti abortion, anti marijuana, anti anything christian or what they perceive to be common christian values? aren't most christians held with contempt in the eyes of the secularists because of their vocal nonsense and being often times the only vocal religious group, trying to take away someones freedoms?
