Christians, why do you believe?

Why such a limited list? Why a person thinks Christianity is true may differ from individual to individual. For one person, it might be because God speaks to his heart and produces in him a conviction this is true. I certainly believe that is valid. To another person, though, it may be a more hardheaded intellectual exploration of the evidence that leads him to the same conviction this is true. For me, its because the weight of the evidence is for it. The person, deeds, and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth and his apostles, found in the New Testament, simply tower over all other ideologies and religious systems. This is true both in intrinsic content and in historical impact. Regarding intrinsic content, all one needs to do is read the rich devotional, theological, and ethical literature found in throughout the history of Christianity to see that, when it accurately expounds the New Testament, this literature is without rival. Regarding historical influence, whenever genuine Christianity has thrived, humans have flourished. I am convinced by arguments from prophecy and historical evidence that the Bible is, indeed, a divine revelation and that Jesus of Nazareth is the risen Son of God.
